Accessibility Statement
How SignGuard implements digital accessibility under the German Accessibility Act (BFSG) — conformity status, feedback channel and conciliation body.
This statement applies to the website available at signguard.app, including all subpages, and to the contract-analysis application usable in the browser. Status: May 13, 2026. Last review: May 13, 2026. Next scheduled review: May 13, 2027.
SignGuard strives to make its website signguard.app accessible in accordance with the German Accessibility Act (Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz, BFSG), the associated regulation (BFSGV), and the technical requirements of EN 301 549 (V3.2.1) and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA.
1. Conformity status
This website is partially compliant with the requirements of the German Accessibility Act (BFSG) and EN 301 549. There is no fundamental alteration of the essential characteristics of our service within the meaning of § 16 BFSG.
Non-accessible or partially accessible content
Despite our efforts, the following content may currently be accessible only to a limited extent:
- Some sample analysis PDFs (e.g.
demo-analyse-*.pdf) are not yet fully tagged (PDF/UA). An accessible HTML alternative is in progress. - Video hero mockups on some contract-type pages have no audio description, as they are purely decorative and contain no sound (
aria-hidden=true). - Some interactive elements in the contract-upload flow are being continuously improved to meet WCAG 2.2 SC 2.5.8 (Target Size).
2. Assessment method
The assessment of conformity with the requirements is based on a self-assessment by the SignGuard team. The review covered:
- Automated tests with Google Lighthouse (accessibility audit), axe DevTools and the WAVE browser plugin on the most important pages (homepage, contract-type pages, legal pages, guide articles).
- Manual spot checks of the central user flows (contract upload, results view, contact form) against WCAG 2.2 Level AA, including keyboard navigation, screen-reader testing (NVDA, VoiceOver), color-contrast measurement and zoom at 200%.
- Code review for semantic HTML structure, ARIA landmarks, skip links, alt texts and language attributes.
An external conformity assessment (e.g. BIK BITV test) is planned for Q4 2026.
3. Feedback and contact (report a barrier)
Have you encountered accessibility barriers on our site, or do you need content in an accessible format? We welcome your feedback and aim to respond and remove the barrier within one month.
Contact for accessibility feedback:
- Email: info@signguard.app (please use the subject line "Barrierefreiheit" — it helps us route your message quickly internally)
- Postal address: see Imprint (Legal Notice)
You do not need to provide a name, phone number or postal address — an email address is enough for us to reply to you.
4. Enforcement procedure / conciliation body
If you are not satisfied with our response, or if you have not received a satisfactory response within one month, you can turn — free of charge — to the conciliation body under § 16 BGG (German Disability Equality Act) in conjunction with § 34 BFSG:
